Cafes are and have historically been places where people come together and have a caffeinated exchange of ideas. The French Revolution started in a coffee shop. We like creating spaces where people can come and communicate and connect with one another.
Jeanna and Todd
Iconik Co-founder Todd Spitzer and partner Jeanna Gienke recently opened their tea house in the Baca Railyard district of Santa Fe. Guided by their passion for community, coffee, tea and all things that grow, they’ve created a unique space in a newly developed part of town.
With the understanding of how nature impacts our well being, Jeanna designs plant-scapes to enliven rooms, office desks and commercial spaces. She has curated the plantings of Opuntia and enjoys collaborating with local artists to create the cafes retail offerings.
When we’re talking to ICONIK, we’re not just having business conversations, we’re more-so having friend conversations and we still get everything accomplished together.
Why did you choose Iconik to be your coffee provider?
A lot of reasons! One, is that I started the company (Laughs). Two, is that the company is now run by amazing people that we love and want to support, and three, it is the best roaster in New Mexico. Even if I didn’t start Iconik, we would still use their coffee because it really is the best roaster in New Mexico, hands down.
What do you like about working with ICONIK?
If there are any problems, when we reach out, they respond immediately and take care of the situation. Even if we have equipment problems someone from Iconik will show up and take care of it. Their customer service is excellent, it’s incredibly easy to order, and most of all, it’s a quality product, so we’re very happy to serve it here.
Tea is a naturally social drink. One pot can serve many people, so you can order a Tea and complementary foods. You drink, sample, share, laugh. It’s a very basic but at the same time much needed experience that is on the edge of extinction in our society. samovartea.com
