    As the owner of Velvet Coffeehouse, Greg gets to practice creativity in a way that he’s always wanted. Inspired by the coffee scene in the Bay Area, he has devoted himself to understanding the complex process from seed to cup.

What are you passionate about?

I’ve always enjoyed coffee, but within the past 10-15 years I’ve understood the process and where it comes from. It is a truly special commodity that takes so many people to produce down to the cup that I’m having right now. Coffee is something that brings people together and I think that it is good for the soul.

    I value the creativity that I have by starting and owning this shop. I have the ability to set the course any way I desire.

  • The Cafe

    It’s like you’re steering a ship, and no one else can do it for you. There is a satisfaction in succeeding when you know your own drive propelled it forward. All of that to say though, I could never do this without my team.

How did you get to the point where you’re at now? How did you get started?

Fom living in the Bay Area about ten years ago. I got to experience different coffee shops like Ritual Coffee and Bluebottle, among others. Those were the places that really inspired me.

    I love Iconik Coffee, and I’ve been with ya’ll since the inception. I like that I can get on the phone and get my questions answered quickly and efficiently. Even as of recently, I wanted something different out of your coffee program. You saw the merit of the idea and implemented it almost immediately.
